The Bellwood-Antis community is home to a number of major recreational amenities, including the Bellwood-Antis Community Park and Pool, the Northern Blair County Recreation Center, the Del Grosso Amusement Park, the Bells Gap Rail-Trail and state game lands. The purpose of the plan was to coordinate the overall provision and improvement of recreation facilities and programs that serve the community. Working with a steering committee that included representatives from both communities, the school district and the regional recreation facilities mentioned above, the need for additional planning was noted early on and the Township received Early Implementation Funding through DCNR to prepare three site plans. Mackin prepared site plans for the 9.7-acre Community Park, one-acre 5th Street Park and a new proposed park to be located on property owned by the Pinecroft Volunteer Fire Company.
