East Branch Trail Feasibility Study

The East Branch Trail (EBT) is a key link in the Erie to Pittsburgh Trail. Clear Lake Authority purchased the 15.4-mile former rail corridor in 1988 and opened 3.1 miles of trail in and around the town of Spartansburg, Crawford County. Our project consisted of determining the feasibility of establishing a rail-trail along the former railroad corridor (5.8 miles) and either a rail-trail with an active railroad or a share-the-road alignment (4.8 miles) into Corry, where it would connect to the Corry Junction Trail. The project involved many meetings and field views with property owners of the former railroad corridor to determine the most feasible (and preferred) alignments.
